KHANEWAL:Motorways police detained three people for cutting safety fence on sides of Khanewal-Abdul Hakeem motorway M-4.
According to official of National Highways and Motorways Police, three accused identified as Adnan, Shafqat and Mumtaz were spotted in cutting fence erected around M-4 Sector, near location of 63 North bound, Chuk no. 13 vk. While seeing motorway police, they tried to escape leaving behind their motorbikes and cut-fence on the place. But inspector Muhammad Akram along with two of the officials caught the accused and handed them over to Kabeer Walla Police Station with their motorbikes and the fence.
Sector Commander Qamar Shehzad Bhatti said in this regard that fence was used to place around motorways to protect smooth journey of travellers. Otherwise in its absence, he said that animals come across vehicles by jumping on the lanes which caused lot of trouble to motorists.
