DERA ISMAIL KHAN:The district administration has sealed three shops for encroaching on public land during an operation conducted at the New Vegetable and Fruit Market in Ratta Kulachi and Sheikh Yousaf Adda.
The operation was conducted on the directives of the deputy commissioner under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Dr Muhammad Hamid Siddiq, with the participation of the anti-encroachment squad and Tehsil Municipal Administration staff.
The teams removed illegal encroachments from public passageways and roadsides, particularly areas falling within the right of way. The three shops were sealed for occupying government land and violating the Removal of Encroachment Act, 1977.
Dr Siddiq warned traders and shopkeepers against placing goods on roads, footpaths and public passageways, saying such practices obstruct traffic and inconvenience pedestrians. He directed them to keep their businesses within designated limits and ensure that public spaces remained clear.
He said the administration would continue its anti-encroachment drive without discrimination and take legal action against violators. The campaign aims to facilitate public movement, maintain smooth traffic flow and improve civic order in the city.
