Torghar DPO stresses police-public cooperation for sustainable peace, crime control

Torghar: District Police Officer (DPO) Torghar Arshad Khan (PSP) and Deputy Commissioner Dr Yasir Imran on Friday held a jirga with elders of five clans of the district to discuss law and order, anti-terrorism measures, drug control and other matters.



The meeting also discussed the prevailing national and regional situation and measures to strengthen peace and security in the district.



Speaking at the jirga, DPO Arshad Khan urged the tribal elders to extend full cooperation to the police and district administration, particularly in efforts to eliminate drugs and curb other criminal activities.



The elders appreciated the police and administration’s measures for maintaining law and order, combating terrorism and controlling drug-related activities. They assured the authorities of their full cooperation and said the people of Torghar had supported government institutions in maintaining peace in the past and would continue to do so.



The elders described drug abuse as a serious social menace and assured that they would assist police in identifying and eliminating elements involved in the drug trade.



They also appreciated the measures being taken under the leadership of DPO Arshad Khan to maintain peace and prevent crime in the district.



The DPO thanked the tribal elders for their cooperation and said that sustainable peace, crime prevention and a safe society could only be ensured through effective cooperation between the police and the public.
