BAHAWALNAGAR: A tragic incident occurred near Islampura stop Faqirwali on Bahawalngar Fort Abbas Road, where a traffic officer, Rashid Nazir, was fatally injured by a trawler driver on Tuesday.
According to details, in a tragic turn of events near Islampura stop Faqirwali on Bahawalngar Fort Abbas Road, a routine traffic check took a devastating turn when a trawler driver, instead of stopping for inspection, recklessly rammed into a traffic officer, Rashid Nazir.
Despite immediate medical attention, Nazir succumbed to his injuries. The driver attempted to flee the scene but was swiftly apprehended by other vigilant traffic officials.
Shockingly, it was revealed by In-charge DSP Traffic Asif Saeed that the trawler’s helper, rather than the designated driver, was behind the wheel.
In honour of the fallen constable, full official honours will be accorded.
