Traffic Police launch crackdown on encroachments, illegal parking along Sariab road

Quetta

QUETTA:Acting on special directives of the Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court and orders of SSP Traffic Dostain Dashti, joint teams led by SP Traffic Sariab Yawar Abbas and SP Traffic City Shabana conducted an operation against encroachments and illegal parking to improve traffic flow and ease public movement in Quetta.

During the campaign, roads and passages from Hockey Chowk through Sirki Road and the main market area up to Sariab Phatak were cleared at various locations. Special attention was given to areas surrounding Imdad Chowk, where action was taken against illegally parked motorcycles and other vehicles to ensure unhindered access for patients, attendants, ambulances and the general public.

Traffic police teams removed encroachments established on roadsides, issued challans to violators and confiscated materials used for illegal occupation of public spaces. Authorities made it clear that motorcycle parking on roads and unauthorized parking stands would not be permitted, while action would also be taken against double parking and vehicles parked at inappropriate locations.

Traffic police officials urged citizens to avoid parking motorcycles and vehicles on roads, refrain from double parking and ensure compliance with traffic laws to prevent obstruction of traffic flow.

They emphasized that operations against encroachments and illegal parking would continue on a daily basis to maintain smooth traffic movement and address difficulties faced by the public. Officials warned that, in addition to fines, motorcycles and vehicles involved in violations could also be impounded.

The traffic police appealed for public cooperation, saying that keeping roads open for traffic and ensuring unobstructed access to hospitals is a shared civic responsibility.
