FAISALABAD:Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ali Shahzad inaugurated the spring tree plantation campaign here on Friday by planting a sapling in the ground of MC Boys Higher Secondary School Allama Iqbal Road.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Sahibzada Muhammad Yousuf, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Education Authority (DEA) Ali Ahmad Siyan and School Principal Rao Iqbal also planted saplings.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that trees are essential for protection of environment. Therefore, government has started 10 billion tree plantation drive across the country which would not only save the environment from pollution but also help in addressing climate hazards. He appreciated the efforts of District Education Authority for launching tree plantation campaign in Faisalabad and said that district administration had also chalked out a comprehensive strategy to motivate government departments to plant maximum saplings for total success of the drive. He also urged the school children and teachers to take part in the tree plantation and plat maximum tree.
