Tree planting campaign launched

Sargodha: The faculty and students of Government Ambala Muslim Graduate College for Boys Sargodha launched a tree planting campaign.

A special ceremony was held at the college to highlight the benefits of tree plantation on Saturday. The chief guest, Principal Prof. Dr. Raja Muhammad Azhar Abbas addressed the gathering, emphasizing the urgent need to raise awareness about the importance of tree plantation.

He highlighted that the entire world is working on such initiatives and that planting trees and protecting them is essential for a healthy environment. The Punjab government and the Higher Education Department have issued special directives regarding this campaign, which will be strictly implemented, he said.

”This tree planting campaign will continue for a month and no negligence will be tolerated, as making our country green and prosperous is not only a pressing need of the time but also our national duty,” he said.

During this campaign, all faculty members would plant at least two trees, while each
student should also plant at least one tree, he added.

At the end of the ceremony, he launched the campaign by planting a sapling on the college’s lawn.

A large number of faculty members and students were present.
