Two cops among four booked

FAISALABAD: Sadr police claimed on Sunday to have booked four people including two police officials on charge of abduction for ransom, and arrested one of the accused. Constable Umar Daraz and constable Qaisar posted at Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station, along with his two accomplices Zeeshan Younus, etc. had allegedly abducted a citizen Waris Ali, resident of Kaleem Shaheed Colony and released him after receiving ransom money of Rs 700, 000.

Asima Bibi, the wife of Waris Ali in her complaint contended that the accused carried her spouse to Chak No.230-RB where they detained him in a house. The accused also hurled threats of implicating her husband in a fabricated murder case, besides the threat of killing him in a police encounter. On the complaint, SHO Sadr police station Rae Aftab Waseem arrested Zeeshan Younus and started investigation for the arrest of remaining accused. Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Capt (Retd) Muhammad Ali Zia suspended Muharrar Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station Head Const
able Ata Sandhu on the charge of his negligence. The CPO directed the police to arrest the accused without any delay.
