Two dacoits killed in Katcha area

Lahore:The Rahim Yar Khan district police have killed two dacoits, identified as Sarmad Bhaiyo and Sajan Malookani, during a targeted operation in the Katcha area.

Both dacoits were involved in martyrdom of former SHO Machka Police Station, Sub-Inspector Rana Ramzan.

According to Punjab police spokesperson, intelligence-based operation took place in the Sikandar Chachar area of Katcha Machka. Upon spotting the police team, the dacoits opened fire, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.

Both criminals, who were wanted for a series of heinous crimes including attacks on police and terrorism, were killed during the operation.

The police also recovered two Kalashnikovs and hundreds of rounds of ammunition from their possession.

DPO Rahim Yar Khan Rizwan Umar Gondal said that the operation was launched based on credible intelligence regarding the dacoits’ location.

Some of the accomplices of the slain dacoits managed to escape under the cover of darkness into nearby sugarcane fields, and a large-scale sear
ch operation is currently underway to apprehend them.

SHO Machka Jam Ijaz, SHO Bhong Naveed Wahla, and CIA In-charge Saifullah Malhi, along with a sizable police force, participated in the operation.

The police team was equipped with armoured vehicles, modern weapons, night-vision scopes, and elite commandos to ensure the operation’s success.

IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar praised the Rahim Yar Khan Police team, led by DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal, for their swift and decisive action.

He reiterated his determination to cleanse the Katcha region of dacoits, terrorists, and criminal elements. “Punjab Police will not rest until every corner of Katcha area is free from criminals,” he asserted.
