LAHORE:Police arrested two persons, including a woman for allegedly torturing a widow, cutting off her hair and threatening to kill her here on Monday.
According to a spokesperson, the arrested suspects were identified as Nageena, the victim’s sister-in-law, and her husband Khurram. The victim alleged that her in-laws subjected her to violence just 40 days after her husband’s death.
She further alleged that the suspects cut her hair, threatened to kill her and attempted to evict her along with her three children during her iddat period.
The victim contacted the police through Helpline 15, after which the Lower Mall police responded promptly and arrested the suspects. A case was also registered against them, the spokesperson added.
