Sialkot: The district administration suspended two PERA Force sergeants over alleged corruption as part of an ongoing self-accountability drive within government departments.
According to a spokesperson here on Thursday, SDEO PERA Force Nasir Jajja issued the suspension orders against Zain Arif Cheema and Muhammad Asad.
Deputy Commissioner Awais Mushtaq stated that strict action against corrupt and inefficient officials is being pursued in line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision. Disciplinary proceedings under the PEEDA Act have also been initiated against the suspended personnel.
Previously, administrative action was taken against several other officials, including price magistrates, a Naib Tehsildar, a PERA enforcement officer, two enforcement inspectors, and 11 others, over charges of corruption and negligence.
