SARGODHA:The college of law at the University of Sargodha (UoS) organized a seminar on the importance of “Digital Forensics in Criminal Investigation” here on Wednesday. Associate Professor Dr Zunaira Jalil from the Department of cyber security Air University, Islamabad, participated as a guest speaker while Dean faculty of arts and humanities Ghulam Abbass Gondal, Law College Principal Dr Atika Lohani and students also attended the seminar. The expert explained cyber threat landscape, emerging cyber crimes, digital forensics, evidence acquisition, computer forensics, mobile forensics, and social media forensics. Dr Zunaira educated students about evidence gathering and using techniques and types of digital forensics. She also discussed various types of cyber crimes and highlighted the importance of digital forensics in criminal investigations by well-defined methodologies and procedures without altering or damaging the original data. On this occasion, Ghulam Abbass said that cyber professionals must educate the public about cyber crime and the law in order to avoid the spreading of crime on social media.
