LAHORE:The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jumhoori Publications aiming at promotion of book reading through book fairs and festivals.
According to WCLA spokesperson here, under the agreement, Jumhoori Publications would organize monthly book fairs at Wazir Khan Chowk. The publications would also hold a 15 days book festival inside the Walled City of Lahore with the cooperation of WCLA.
The main purpose of this endeavor was to preserve and promote the literature and book reading among the masses.
