Khanewal: A centre for handicraft articles along with a beauty salon was established at Snatzar here on Wednesday to provide women with opportunities for skills development and economic empowerment. Deputy Commissioner Hina Arshad inaugurated the centre and said the initiative was
aimed at empowering women of the region in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab.
She said the newly established centre would provide women with a platform to display and promote their handicraft skills and other creative work. She added that both newly prepared and previously created handicraft articles and clothing would be available at 50 percent reduced rates.
The deputy commissioner said the initiative would help women develop practical skills and create opportunities for them to contribute to their household income. She also stressed the importance of equipping female students with vocational and practical skills alongside conventional education.
