Lahore:Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir will be observed in the provincial capital on Monday to mark the fifth anniversary of India revoking Kashmir’s special autonomy and to show solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ and K).
Various seminars, walks and functions in connection with the Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir would be held across the city whereas the main event would be held in Alhamra which would be attended by various politicians and well known figures.
Print media would publish special articles to highlight the significance of the day while electronic media would broadcast various programmes in this regard.
The observance of Youm-e-Istehsal is aimed at conveying a message to the world that Kashmiris do not accept India’s illegal occupation and reject Indian illegal moves of 5th Aug 2019 when it repealed the special status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In violation of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir and of internatio
nal law, India tried to obliterate the distinct identity of the Kashmiri people. India hoped that by attempting to alter demographic structure of Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ and K), it could dampen the spirit of the Kashmiri people or at the very least, make them compromise on their legitimate right to self-determination. On both counts, India has abjectly failed. These steps were forcefully rejected by Pakistan, the Kashmiris, and the international community.
Regrettably, India has not fulfilled its commitments to the UN Security Council, Pakistan, international community and the Kashmiri people. Pakistan calls upon the international community to hold India accountable for its crimes against Kashmiris and demand that India reverses its illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019, revoke draconian laws, cease all human rights violations, and stop its state-terrorism against the people of IIOJ and K.
