Youth education vital for ensuring overall development, progress: Bangash

MANSEHRA:Provincial minister for Higher Education Kamran Khan Bangash Thursday said that the dream of national development can never come true without investing in higher education and technology, so it is need of the hour that we provide higher education to our youth for a prosperous future.

He expressed these views while addressing the opening ceremony of the three-day international conference organized by the Bioinformatics department of Hazara University (HU), Mansehra.

This was the fourth conference with the theme “Emerging Trends in Bioinformatics and Biosciences”.

The minister further said that by equipping the youth with coherent higher education, technology and skills, prepares them to face the challenges initiated by developed countries.

The provincial minister said that the main task of universities is to create new sciences and keeping in mind the needs of the country, they should be promoted and the students should be part of the social activities so that their talents get a chance to flourish and they can fulfill their duty by serving the country and the nation as a useful citizen.

He said that in order to highlight the mental development of students and their academic abilities, it is necessary to promote the exchange of university scholars with the students of international universities so that our young scholars can be aware at the changes in the field of technology on a global level.

Kamran Khan Bangash appreciated the transparency in the financial and administrative affairs of Hazara University and said that HU is progressing by showing the best ability in both financial and administrative matters due to transparency, there has been significant improvement in the educational research and creative sectors of the university, adding he said.

Secretary of Higher Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Daud Khan while addressing the participants of the conference said that the history of universities covers thousands of years and only after years of hard work and austerity a university becomes creative.

He said that Hazara University during a very short span of time after its establishment has achieved a proud position in terms of academics and research, which is a reflection of the hard work, expertise, and dedication of its competent and experienced faculty members, professors and other employees in their respective fields.

Dawood Khan said that for sustainable development and social welfare, it is necessary that we adopt the modern sciences prevalent in the developed world instead of the traditional education system and develop them as a motto to prepare young students and researchers to face the current and future challenges.

The Secretary of Higher Education further said that acquisition of modern sciences and higher research activities should be the slogan of universities and in this regard, Hazara University is moving in the right direction.
