PESHAWAR: Police and security forces have killed two wanted terrorists during an intelligence based operation in Speen Waam area of the Tehsil Mir Ali of North Waziristan.
This was stated in a press release issued here by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Bannu Police on Friday.
The CTD Bannu Region had received a tip that terrorists had entered the Speen Waam locality of Mir Ali on which a special raiding team comprised of the personnel of District Police and intelligence organizations launched a joint operation.
During the operation, terrorists opened fire on the raiding team and during the encounter two terrorists were shot dead and managed their escape while taking advantage of the darkness of night.
The killed terrorists have been identified as Lal Marjan alias Yasir son of Gul Daraza, resident of North Waziristan and Zar Qayyum alias Zargay, resident of Mir Ali. Both the deceased were wanted in several criminal cases.
Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an operation to arrest the escaped terrorists.
