PESHAWAR: The district administration Dir Lower has imposed a ban on bathing in Panjkora River, its tributaries and collection of firewood on the river banks to overcome drowning incidents.
Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower Capt (R) Aun Haider Gondal issued directives in this regard.
According to directives, it has been observed that several people lost their lives while collecting woods from riverbeds or bathing, thus, it has been decided to impose a ban on bathing and collection of wood and refrain people, particularly children from unnecessary walk on the bank of river Pujkora and its tributaries in the limits of the district.
He said that ban also applied on excavation and desalting and extraction of sand in the river with immediate effect.
