ISLAMABAD: Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS) Pakistan and Saba Trust are set to donate meat and other food stuff to Panahgahs (Shelter Home) to ensure maintaining a balanced diet to the inmates (of these shelter homes).
Country Director CDRS Dr Khalil A Khan told reporter that some 100 kg mutton worth about Rs 160, 000/-and rice and other stuff amounting to Rs 80, 000 would be provided every week to the Panahgahs, where underprivileged and other people from poor segments of society are being provided free food and shelter.
The quantity of mutton and rice would be increased gradually, he said. A (MoU) memorandum of understanding (MoU) between both stakeholders would be inked on Tuesday at Panahgah of Tarlai, Islamabad.
It may be
mentioned here that the
basic concept behind setting up Panahgahs was to support the poor and labour class of the society, which remained shelter-less in urban areas while earning bread for their families mostly living in the rural parts of the country.
The Panahgahs primarily offered them a space with food and shelter amid the best conditions.
