ISLAMABAD:Chief Executive Officer of VEON Group of Dutch Telecom Kaan Terzioglu along with Jazz CEO Amir Ibrahim called on Federal Minister Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Amin ul Haque here on Thursday and discussed matters of bilateral interest and building a technology-driven economy in Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Secretary IT and Telecom Dr Sohail Rajput, Member Telecom and other senior officials
The delegation thanked the minister for approving the right of way policy and launching broadband projects.
The minister said that the objective of Digital Pakistan was to provide connectivity across the country.
He said after improving the quality of services and introducing 4G preparations are underway to introduce 5G in the country.
Amin ul Haque said Pakistan was a profitable market for mobile companies.
The minister noted that with over 73 million subscribers, Jazz was a major player in the Pakistani telecom industry. “We will work closely with the Ministry of IT to achieve the Digital Pakistan Vision”, Kaan Terzioglu said.
The VEON Group CEO said the company was heavily investing to improve the quality of services and expand 4G networking.
CEO of Jazz expressed the confidence that under the leadership of Federal Minister Syed Aminul Haq the telecom sector will make record progress.
