FAISALABAD: The Zakat & Ushar department Punjab has started distribution of maintenance allowance among Zakat beneficiaries.
A spokesman of District Zakat Committee said on Thursday that the Zakat beneficiaries would receive Rs.9000 as first instalment of maintenance allowance whereas Rs.12000 would be provided to visually impaired persons.
He said that total 9095 persons were registered as Zakat beneficiaries for maintenance allowance in Faisalabad and they would get allowance of Rs.81.855 million.
Similarly, Rs.5.736 million would be distributed among 478 registered visually impaired persons.
The registered beneficiaries will get an SMS message from 3737 on their mobile phones after which they can receive their money by visiting any nearby Telenor EasyPaisa center or franchise shop without deduction of any kind because district Zakat committee would pay entire service charges to Telenor company, he added.
