PESHAWAR: Hilal-e-Ahmar Pakistan with the assistance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has made functional two basic health units (BHUs) in Daran Shekhan and Karghan areas of Orakzai district.
Addressing the inaugural function, Chairman Hilal-e-Ahmar Pakistan for tribal districts, Asif Khan Mehsud said the two BHUs were dysfunctional for the last ten years, adding, now the area people would have a free of charge medical cover at their doorstep.
He said rehabilitation of these two BHUs in Orakzai that were non-functional for the last ten years, was a role model for other tribal districts. He said in North and South Waziristan BHUs would be established on the same pattern.
Mehsud said the expert medical staff had been deployed at the BHUs where all needed medical facilities were being provided to the locals. At these BHUs, he said, free of charge treatment and medicines were being provided.
The local people also highly appreciated rehabilitation of the BHUs and thanked Hilal-e-Ahmar Pakistan for their sincere efforts in this regard.
