JAP terms Punjab budget as people-friendly

LAHORE: Judicial Activism Panel (JAP) appreciated the Punjab budget 2021-22 and termed it people-friendly.

Talking to reporter here on Tuesday, JAP Chairman Muhammad Azhar Siddique said that despite

coronavirus pandemic, the Punjab government managed a developmental and people-friendly budget.

He said that the government had reserved billions of rupees for the social sector, including health, education, water supply and sanitation schemes, in the budget, which showed that the government was sincere in providing basic facilities to the masses of the province.

He said that the government had significantly increased developmental allocations in the budget and it would not only create more job opportunities but also pave the way for prosperity and development in the province.

Azhar also appreciated the 10 per cent increase in salaries and pensions of the government employees in the budget, adding that the chief minister had already given approval of a 25 per cent special allowance to more than seven lakh employees from the month of June 2021.
