PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in a landmark step under pension reforms has entitled widows 100 % rather than 75 % pension.
“Our pension reforms have given us a chance to give 100 percent to widows instead of 75 percent, ” Finance Minister Timur Khan Jhagra said in a statement.
Clause (f) on family pensions of the notification said that “family pension” means a compassionate grant to the family at a rate of a hundred percent (100 %) of the pension.
He said the reality of pension reform was different from what a section of the press had claimed in January that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was eliminating women’s pensions.
