MoU signed to develop good citizenship among youth

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Girl Guides Association (PGGA) and Federal Government Educational Institutions (FGEI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in a ceremony held here Tuesday aimed at initiating joint efforts to promote Girl Guiding and develop good citizenship among the youth of the country.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Brig. Waqar Ahmed, Director, FGEI (C/G) and Mrs Maria Maud Sabri, National Commissioner Pakistan Girl Guides Association.

Major General M Asghar, HI (M) Director General Federal Government Educational Institutions and Mrs Farhana Azim, Honorary President PGGA also graced the occasion.

While addressing the gathering, Major General M Asghar, HI (M) appreciated the work of Girl Guides Association and hoped that the partnership between both organizations will help in empowering the girls of the country.

The MoU between PGGA and FGEI will enable both organizations to promote Girl Guiding and develop good citizenship among the youth of Pakistan by forming their character, make them useful and helpful in community development and help them to become good citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Guide Companies will be established in the Schools and colleges of FGEI and Staff and faculty of FGEI will be trained as Guide Leaders.

PGGA will provide support and training to the Girl Guide Leaders nominated by FGEI as well as opportunities to participate in National and International events to the Guides and Leaders of FGEI.
