MULTAN:Enforcement wing of Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has issued notices to 77 citizens for dumping debris on roads and streets.
The notices were issued to the owners of the under construction houses, shops and plazas in different areas of the city. The owners of the buildings have been warned through the notices to lift debris within 24 hours otherwise strict action would be taken against them under Punjab Local Government Act.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, Managing Director MWMC Fakhrul Islam Dogar said that the citizens would not only be fined but cases would also be registered against them if failed to lift debris within the given time.
He said that why would MWMC pick up the rubble of houses and plazas built with a cost of Rs millions.
Fakhrul Islam Dogar said that a second phase of the drive would be launched soon in which action would be taken against the cattle farms located in the city and also against the persons involved in burning garbage on roads.
MD MWMC added that big institutions should arrange the delivery of garbage and waste to the containers. He urged people to cooperate with MWMC in order to make city clean and beautiful.
