ISLAMABAD:The National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) on Wednesday praised the Pakistan cricket team for their outstanding performance in the ongoing Twenty20 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
The committee which met here under the Chairmanship of Member National Assembly Nawab Sher, unanimously passed a resolution in which the Committee congratulated and appreciated the Pakistan Cricket Team and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the outstanding performance and consecutively winning four matches in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
They also lauded the team for outclassing India by a historic 10 wicket victory and hoped for such kind of victories and successes in future and pride for the nation.
The committee also prayed for the team for victory in final and to win the World Cup as well.
Coming to the committee agenda, the IPC Secretary Mohsin Mushtaq briefed the committee on the implementation status of the previous recommendations of the Committee.
While discussing the prevention of Offences in Sports Bill, 2020 moved by MNA Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, the Committee recommended that the mover and concerned officials from the Ministry of IPC and Ministry of Law and Justice would meet and discuss the matter to resolve the issue.
The committee also considered question moved by MNA Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto regarding the Pakistan Cricket Board. After thorough deliberations, the Committee showed its displeasure for not providing complete information on the subject and recommended that the representative of Pakistan Cricket Board must come with complete information and with full preparation in the next meeting of the Committee.
The committee was also briefed by the representative of Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) to which the Committee also showed its displeasure on not providing the specific information and recommended to come in the next meeting with full preparation and information.
The committee also showed displeasure on the President and Secretary General, Pakistan Athletic Federation (PAF) for not attending the meeting and directed either of them to be present in the next one.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Khurram Shahzad, Mehboob Shah, Gul Dad Khan, Gul Zafar Khan, Haji Imtiaz Ahmed Chaudhary, Ms. Robina Jamil, Ms. Munawara Bibi Baloch, Mst. Shaheen Naz Saifullah, Fakhar Zaman, Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, Ch. Zulfiqar Ali Bhinder, Muhammad Afzal Khohar, Rasheed Ahmad Khan, Zulfiqar Ali Behan, Ms. Shahida Rehmani, Ms. Nasiba Channa, and Syed Faiz ul Hassan, Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto, MNA/Mover and Officers and Officials of the Ministry.
