FAISALABAD:City Police Officer (CPO) Ghulam Mubasshar Mekan has said that the women were not sexually assaulted during dacoity in the area of City Tandlianwala police station.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said that the armed bandits intercepted the family of Aftab Nisar near Chak No.393-GB at night and tied them after snatching dopatta of a lady.
The accused looted the cash and other valuables at gunpoint and escaped from the scene.
The victim filed a complaint in which he claimed that the outlaws not only looted them but also sexually assaults their two women.
On this complaint, SSP Investigation was directed to probe into the matter by ensuring immediate arrest of the culprits. Therefore, a special team was constituted which traced out the whereabouts of the outlaws and arrested them.
During investigation, it came into light that the accused did not assault the ladies sexually rather they only committed dacoity, he added.
The CPO further told that over negligence, Station House Officer (SHO) City Tandlianwala police station was suspended.
The CPO also directed the police investigation officer to complete investigation of the case purely on merit so that that justice could be provided to the victim family.
Further action against him was underway.
