MULTAN: 17th Cholistan desert jeep rally would be started from February 9 as registration for the jeep rally has been started, says TDCP official here on Sunday.
The arrangements for five days jeep rally 9 to 13 Feb organized by Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) has been started, said TDCP Deputy Manager Sheikh Ijaz while talking to reporter here.
He said that the online registration of the vehicles had been started from January Ist which will continue by Jan 30 with single fee while registration from Ist Feb would be made with double fee. He informed that the single fee for prepaid category was Rs 30,000, Rs 25,000 for stock category, Rs 35,000 for sponsor and Rs 30,000 for stock sponsor category.
The Deputy Manager said that 125 jeep drivers could participate in the rally and hoped that this figure will cross. He informed that the willing drivers could submit fee online in Bank of Punjab.
Sheikh Ijaz informed that the route committee had conducted one recce for selection of jeep rally track and added that the route track would be selected after four recce sessions. He said that every year new track was selected for the jeep rally.
The TDCP Deputy Manager said that local events including traditional kabaddi, camel race, motorbike race, food street and others would be organized on the occasion of jeep rally.
