HARIPUR: The second phase of the local bodies election in district Haripur has been started where today scrutiny of the nomination papers was held and it would continue till 14th of November.
According to the details, today scrutiny of nomination paper’s of five Village Councils including Deedan, Kot Najeebullah Northern, Western, Mohri Malyan and Chamhad has been conducted while on 14th of November scrutiny of 5 VCs including Gujja Kamala, Babdi Sarya, Sarya Sarai Gadai and Mang would be held.
Candidates have appeared before the Returning Officer (RO) Haripur with their proposer and seconder at Population Welfare Office Haripur. Hundreds of candidates have filed nomination papers from 10 VCs of district Haripur.
From Haripur city, 6 candidates of the Malik family have been elected unopposed where from City Ward No. 6 General Councillor Malik Ismail, Youth Councilor Usama Tariq, City Ward No. 2 Labour Councilor Malik Jameel, City 3 Youth Councilor Malik Aqib and from Ward No.5 Ehtisham Shahid elected as Youth Councillor.
Haripur is the only district of the Hazara division where local bodies’ elections have been scheduled with other 16 districts of the province while in the remaining 7 districts LG elections would be held in the second phase.
