MULTAN:Livestock department conducted an awareness seminar regarding side effects of usage of hormones (milk enhancers hormones) in animals.
Deputy Director Livestock Dr Jamshid Akhter said that it was a crime to inject milk enhancer hormones to lactating animals.
He warned the cattle breeders that Drug regulatory authority has cancelled the registration of milk enhancer hormones.
Most important thing is that usage of such hormones has put hazardous effects on health of animal. It may cause abortion in animals which is a great economic loss for cattle breeders, he added.
Use of such hormones also damage the udder of cattle which also cause economic loss in terms of low milk production.
Greedy Dairy traders use hormones to get more milk production from animals that are harmful to the health of both animals and humans, he concluded.
