RAWALPINDI:Chief Traffic Officer of Rawalpindi, Taimoor Khan on Sunday said that during a span of two months about 100,000 motorcyclists were penalized for traffic law violations and strict action would be taken against motorcyclists without helmets.
Additionally, during the awareness campaign, more than 132,000 road users were issued learner permits instead of fines, making it easier for citizens to obtain driving licenses, said a press release issued here.
Khan further highlighted the positive impact of the helmet campaign, noting a significant decrease in head injury cases. CTO said that a vigorous campaign has once again been launched against helmetless riding, driving without a valid license, and one-way violations within the Rawalpindi district.
Khan emphasized that in all three campaigns, a zero-tolerance policy is being enforced to ensure uniform implementation of traffic laws.
