MULTAN: Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) ongoing drive against power pilferers was continued and the number of total power pilferers reached to 10565 after 140 more power pilferers nabbed in a day.
The 99 new cases were registered and the number of total cases was 4051.
The total number of arrested power pilferers reached to 954.
The teams have also imposed Rs 307.6 million fine on power pilferers so far while Rs 92.1 million was recovered.
Likewise, the recovery of arrears/pending dues from running and permanent defaulters crossed to Rs 1.12 billion during the ongoing drive so far.
The operation against tube well defaulters was launched in the Pak Pattan division and the power supply to 984 defaulter tube well consumers was suspended through the remote control system.
The power supply to 225 tube well defaulters was suspended by cutting jumpers.
The transformers and metres of hundreds of tube wells and industrial defaulters across the region, the spokesman concluded.
