PESHAWAR:District administration during a crackdown against encroachments has arrested 118 shopkeepers from various localities of the district, said a press release issued here on Friday.
On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Captain (Retd) Khalid Mahmood, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Adil Wasim along with Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Traffic inspected Khyber Bazaar, Bala Hisar Motorcycle Market and other bazaars in the surrounding of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) while other officers also carried out similar inspections in their areas of jurisdiction and collectively arrested 118 shopkeepers for erecting encroachments outside their shops.
DC Peshawar has directed all officers of the district administration for conducting random visits to bazaars and arresting of all those re-erecting encroachments and initiating legal proceedings against the already arrested shopkeepers.
