Governor, Ministers express grief on martyrdom of Session Judge, gunman in Mastung firing


Quetta: Balochistan Governor, Jafar Khan Mandokhel along with provincial ministers including Ziaullah Longov and Ali Madad Jatak on Thursday expressed grief over the martyrdom of Session Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his gunman in the firing incident on the National Highway in Mastung.



Judicial Magistrate Tariq Lashari and another person were also seriously injured in the terrorist attack.



The Governor has directed all law enforcement agencies to take immediate and strict action against the terrorists involved and ensure their early arrest and legal action.



He also instructed the concerned authorities to provide best medical facilities to the injured. Governor Mandokhel prayed for the eternal peace of the martyred souls and early recovery of the injured.



Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Secession Judge Abdul Hakeem and his gunman and expressed grief on their martyrdom.



He said that the government shared the pain of the families of the martyrs in this hour, adding, terrorist elements would not be spared under any circumstances and strict action against anti-peace elements would be taken.



The Home Minister said that the state was taking full action against those who disrupt peace and order saying that protection of life and property of the people was the top priority of the government.



Pakistan Peoples Party central leader and provincial minister Haji Ali Madad Jatak also expressed deep grief and strong condemnation over the martyrdom of Sessions Judge, Abdul Hakeem Kakar, and his gunman in the cowardly attack by terrorists in Mastung district.



He said that terrorists were shedding the blood of innocent citizens to fulfill their nefarious intentions, but such cowardly acts could never dampen the morale of the nation.



He said that Sessions Judge, Abdul Hakeem Kakar, was a dutiful, honest and law-abiding judge, while his bodyguard also sacrificed his life while discharging his duty. Their sacrifices would always be remembered.



Jatak said that every conspiracy to harm peace and stability in Balochistan would be foiled, and these cowardly attacks by the insidious enemy could not shake the resolve and morale of the people of Balochistan.



He said that the entire nation was united against terrorism and the elements hostile to peace would not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious objectives under any circumstances.



CM Sarfraz calls injured AS Judge regarding his health


Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday contacted Additional Sessions (AS) Judge Tariq Lashari to inquire about his well-being who was injured in Mastung attack and assured him that he would be fully taken care of until his recovers completely.



Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the elements targeting the guardians of law and justice would not deserve any concessions, the Balochistan government would bring the elements involved in this cowardly incident of terrorism and their facilitators to justice and bring them to a logical conclusion.



The Chief Minister Balochistan reiterated the resolve that the government stands in complete solidarity with the judiciary, law enforcement agencies and all state institutions.



He said that every conspiracy to intimidate state institutions through terrorism would be foiled and all necessary steps could continue to be taken to establish peace and order in Balochistan.



Chief Minister prayed that Allah Almighty may grant complete recovery to all the injured, including Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari, and elevate the ranks of the martyrs.



Six terrorists killed, several arrested in IBO in Mastung


Quetta: Security forces killed six terrorists belonging to Fitna al Hindustan and arrested several others during a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung district.



The arrested terrorists include facilitators as well as male and female suicide bombers, according to security sources. Several terrorist hideouts were also completely destroyed during the operation. A large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists’ hideouts, security sources added.



Search and clearance operations are continuing in the area, while security forces have maintained full surveillance to ensure that no terrorists escape.



Security sources said intelligence-based operations had been intensified in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung following recent terrorist activities in the region.



Security forces reaffirmed that operations will continue until terrorism is eradicated and lasting peace and stability are restored in the region.



IG Balochistan reviews Police Stations in Quetta


Quetta: Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir visited several police stations in Quetta, including Airport, Shalkot, Kachi Baig, and Saryab, to review security and administrative arrangements.



He was accompanied by DIG Quetta Imran Shoukat, SSP Operations Quetta Zia Mandokhail, and other senior officers. During the visit, DIG Quetta briefed the IG on security measures, deployment of personnel, and operational readiness.



The IG met with police officials stationed at the respective police stations and praised their professional performance. Addressing the officers, he said that uniform and duty are the pride of police personnel, and in the current circumstances their professional responsibilities have become even more critical.



Muhammad Tahir emphasized that Balochistan Police is serving as the frontline force in the fight against terrorism, ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property while upholding the rule of law. He reiterated that public safety remains the foremost priority, and sacrifices will continue to be made for peace and stability.



Commending the courage and determination of the force, he urged officers to remain physically and mentally alert during duty. He reminded them to respect citizens’ rights and dignity, noting that high moral standards and positive conduct enhance the department’s reputation.



The IG further added that police officers have consistently compelled anti-state elements to surrender, and that weapons are a symbol of pride for the force, used only to combat criminals and strengthen peace and order.



Protecting women’s health and dignity top priority of provincial govt: Ghazala Gola


Quetta: An MHM (Menstrual Health Management) Working Group, with support from UNICEF held a consultative meeting in Quetta to discuss women’s health, particularly menstrual health management in Balochistan on Thursday.



The session was chaired by Deputy Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Ghazala Gola and MPA Rahmat Saleh Baloch, and attended by MNA Akhtar Bibi, MPAs Khair Jan Baloch, Shahida Rauf, Kulsoom Niaz Baloch, Chairman Balochistan Revenue Authority Abdullah Noorzai, representatives of UN agencies, and members of civil society.



Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Speaker Ghazala Gola said protecting women’s health and dignity is a top priority of the provincial government, adding that the abolition of taxes on sanitary products is a significant step and efforts are underway to ensure its benefits reach deserving women.



MPA Rahmat Saleh Baloch stressed the need for coordinated efforts among all relevant departments to promote awareness and provide free menstrual hygiene facilities.
