Multan: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) South Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani said on Friday that public participation was indispensable for the government’s efforts to succeed against corruption, stressing that merit and transparency would be ensured in all government departments.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting at south Punjab secretariat here. Director Investigation NAB Multan Abdul Khaliq, Additional Secretary SandGAD Zahoor Hussain Bhutta and other senior officers attended the meeting.
The meeting agreed to establish a joint working relationship between the south Punjab secretariat and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan. It was decided that a comprehensive awareness campaign would be launched to educate the people of South Punjab about the prevention of corruption and measures to curb corrupt practices through coordinated efforts of the secretariat and NAB.
Rabbani directed that digital portals and monitoring cells be made more effective for the prompt reporting of corruption-related complaints.
He said, all government departments would be mobilized to contribute to the establishment of a corruption-free society, adding that special campaigns would also be conducted to create awareness among citizens about their rights and the jurisdiction of NAB.
The ACS said seminars and awareness walks would be organized at all district headquarters and educational institutions across south Punjab as part of the campaign.
