Commissioner, Sahiwal holds open court to redress public complaints on doorsteps


Chichawatni: Commissioner, Sahiwal, Dr Asif Tufail on Wednesday held an open public forum here and the residents raised individual and community issues, prompting officials to issue instructions for their resolution.



The commissioner met the people under the Punjab government’s “Open Door Policy”, an initiative introduced under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to improve access to government services.



The people from different areas presented a range of complaints and requests during the session.



After reviewing each application, the commissioner directed the relevant government departments to address the issues on a priority basis, within the prescribed timeframe and in accordance with merit.



Dr Tufail said the Punjab government remained committed to ensuring better public services and providing timely relief to the citizens at their doorstep, in line with the chief minister’s policy.

Additional Commissioner makes surprise visit to DHQ hospital, directs to improved patient facilities


Chichawatni: Additional Commissioner (Coordination) Dr. Saifullah Bhatti on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the Government Haji Abdul Qayyum District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Chichawatni and directed the hospital administration to ensure improved healthcare services and better facilities for the patients.



During the visit, Bhatti inspected various wards, met patients receiving treatment and inquired about their well-being.



He also spoke with the attendants to gather feedback on the quality of medical services and listen to their concerns.



Medical Superintendent, Dr. Hafiz Zeeshan Mirza accompanied the additional commissioner and briefed him on the hospital’s medical services, availability of medicines and overall administrative arrangements.



Bhatti instructed the hospital administration to ensure an uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water for the patients and attendants, emphasizing that all water coolers should remain operational at all times.



He also reviewed the biometric attendance system for doctors to assess its functionality.

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi has directed the Speaker to convene a meeting of parliamentary leaders to review amendments to the Parliamentarians’ Privileges Bill following media criticism.



Addressing the provincial cabinet, the Chief Minister said the issues raised by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the journalist community should be reviewed.



He said the government believes in freedom of expression and public opinion will be given priority in all decisions.



The Chief Minister said public concerns and issues raised by journalists should be reconsidered. He stated that the KP government takes no illegal action, and even in cases of false propaganda, matters are pursued through courts.



He directed that public opinion and public interest be given priority in all decisions.
