22 drug peddlers held in 24 hours

MUZAFFARGARH:Police have apprehended 22 drug peddlers and recovered drugs from their possession during the ongoing crackdown across the district in last 24 hours.

As per directives of the Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) South Punjab Dr Ehsan Sadiq, the crackdown against drug peddlers was continued across the South Punjab in which operations were being conducted on daily basis.

The police under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Ahmed Nawaz Shah, the police arrested 22 drug peddlers including the dealers involved in supplying Ice to students and recovered 4.69 kg Hashish and 922 litre liquor. Separate cases have been registered against the criminals with the concerned police stations, police sources added.

The Additional IGP Dr Ehsan Sadiq has directed police to continue crackdown against drug peddlers under the vision to make South Punjab drugs free. He urged masses to cooperate with police by giving information about the drug peddlers in their respective areas.
