PESHAWAR: TransPeshawar has purchased 52 new buses for the Peshawar BRT system during the current year, with 25 buses already arrived in Peshawar while the remaining 27 buses are expected to reach the city next week.
According to official details, the existing fleet of the Peshawar BRT stands at 269 buses. With the addition of 27 new buses, the total number of buses in the fleet will rise to 296.
The arrival of the new buses will significantly strengthen the BRT system and improve the travel experience for commuters. The expansion will not only increase the frequency of buses on different routes but also reduce waiting times at stations, making daily commuting more convenient for thousands of passengers.
The addition of these buses will also help ease pressure on the existing fleet, especially during peak hours, ensuring comfortable and reliable travel for the people of Peshawar and the adjoining areas.
Officials said the expansion of the fleet reflects the government’s commitment to providing modern, affordable, and efficient public transport facilities to the citizens. The improved BRT service is expected to encourage more people to use public transport, which will help reduce traffic congestion and environmental pollution in the provincial capital.
Commuters have welcomed the move, saying the increased number of buses would bring much-needed relief and make the BRT service more accessible for daily travelers.
