SARGODHA: A three-member delegation, on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, visited the Government Dr. Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital Sargodha and Government District Maula Bakhsh Hospital.
According to official sources on Sunday, the delegation, comprising Additional Secretary Admin Zahida Azhar, Deputy Secretary Establishment Tayyab Tahir, and Contract Manager Shafique Hussain, reviewed the facilities being provided by the government at the hospitals. They inspected the pharmacy and laboratory at the hospitals and inquired from patients and their attendants about availability of free medicines and laboratory tests.
The delegation also assessed the overall cleanliness of the hospitals, air conditioning in wards, bed-sheets and Annual Development schemes, expressing satisfaction with their findings.
They instructed Dr. Mushtaq Bashir Aakif, Medical Superintendent of DHQ Teaching Hospital, Professor Dr. Muhammad Waris Farooq, Principal of the Medical College, and Dr. Ikram-ul-Haq, MS of
Government Maula Bakhsh Hospital, to ensure that all necessary facilities are provided to patients and their attendants.
Zahida Azhar, Additional Secretary Admin, mentioned that the government has formed committees to monitor government teaching hospitals in Punjab. These committees will visit hospitals to ensure adequate facilities for patients and attendants. She promised immediate provision of any lacking amenities by the Punjab government.
During the visit, Dr. Mushtaq Bashir Aakif, Professor Dr. Muhammad Waris Farooq, and Dr. Ikram-ul-Haq presented proposals to the delegation, which, they assured, would be implemented promptly as per directives from the Punjab government.
The delegation was joined by Dr. Humaira Akram, Additional MS, Dr. Nayeer Abbas Khan, AMS, Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Dr. Khwaja Muhammad Sohail, AMS Nursing Dr. Kashifa Bhali, and Nursing Superintendent Kaniz Fatima.
