Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said on Wednesday that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is taking decisive steps to improve stroke treatment along with cancer care in the province.
In a statement, she said that, for the first time, stroke centres are being established across Punjab, while 40 primary stroke centres have already become fully functional. She said timely measures taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz have helped save the lives of 336 stroke patients.
Azma Bokhari said the chief minister has set a deadline to make 17 more stroke centres operational by December. She added that 710 TNK injections are available at stroke centres for stroke patients.
She said the establishment of stroke centres across the province would ensure that patients no longer have to travel to major cities for treatment. ‘Maryam Nawaz is providing the people of Punjab with the best healthcare facilities at their doorstep,’ she added.
The minister said Punjab is taking revolutionary measures in the health sector, which is also attracting patients from other provinces for treatment. She added that free medicines and diagnostic tests are being provided at all government hospitals across Punjab.
