MULTAN: A Divisional Environmental Committee met here on Friday with commissioner Multan Aamir Kareem Khan in the chair, reviewed 39 cases of poultry farms seeking environmental approval and directed the relevant departments to ensure a swift, transparent and facilitative approval process.
Officials should complete all necessary formalities after applicants submitted their applications through the designated app and present the cases before the Divisional Environmental Approval Committee (DEAC) without unnecessary delay, commissioner Khan said.
He further instructed officials to personally contact applicants by phone after approval of their cases to inform them about the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs), enabling them to collect the documents from the relevant offices.
According to the report presented at the meeting, the 39 cases included 34 from Khanewal, three from Lodhran and two from Vehari. In Khanewal, 19 new cases were received, while five were deferred. Another 15 cases had been deferred in the Oct 6 meeting due to the non-availability of plantation certificates. In Lodhran, one new case was received, while two were deferred due to incomplete plantation certificates and Site Inspection Reports (SIRs). Both cases from Vehari were also deferred over the same deficiencies.
Aamir Kareem Khan directed the departments concerned to ensure timely completion of all legal and technical requirements and establish an effective mechanism for promptly informing applicants about the approval of their NOCs.
