Faisalabad: The police have claimed to arrest 5,343 proclaimed offenders including 1,983 A-category and 3,360 B-category offenders through intelligence-led operations and coordinated investigative efforts during current year of 2026.
Police spokesman said that the arrests were made during extensive operations against proclaimed offenders wanted in serious criminal cases across the district.
He said that the arrested accused included 160 proclaimed offenders wanted in murder cases and 205 wanted in attempted murder cases, reflecting the focus of the crackdown on individuals allegedly involved in grave offences.
The police also arrested 1,823 proclaimed offenders wanted in serious cases of robbery and dacoity, he added.
He said that an effective operational strategy and intelligence-based actions played a key role in tracing and apprehending the wanted suspects.
Human intelligence, CCTV camera footage and modern technical resources were also utilized to identify the locations and concealed hideouts of proclaimed offenders, he added.
He said that the coordinated use of intelligence and technological tools had helped police expose the safe havens used by wanted criminals and bring them within the reach of law-enforcement agencies.
The arrests of dangerous suspects involved in serious crimes were described as a reflection of effective leadership, coordinated planning and sustained operational efforts by Faisalabad Police, he added.
Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain appreciated performance of the police force and directed police officers to further accelerate operations against proclaimed offenders and other dangerous elements involved in serious crimes.
He said that there was no safe haven for criminal elements in Faisalabad. He made it clear that lawbreakers would be pursued and arrested wherever they attempted to hide.
He directed police officers to ensure that arrested suspects were brought before the courts and legal proceedings were pursued effectively so that those found guilty could receive punishment according to law.
He further ordered police personnel to maintain the momentum of the crackdown, strengthen intelligence-based operations and continue coordinated action against proclaimed offenders and other elements posing a threat to public safety.
The operations against wanted criminals would continue across the district as part of efforts to strengthen law and order and provide citizens with a safer environment, he added.
