RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested 8 gamblers and recovered bet money Rs 91,770, 04 mobile phones, and 03 motorcycles from their possession during crackdown here on Tuesday. According to a police spokesman, Jatli police conducted a raid at a house and held 08 gamblers who were identified as Bilal, Ghaafar, Jabbar, Sarfraz, Azhar, Aamir, Usman and Sakhawat.
Police have registered separate cases against all of them and further investigation was in progress. SP Saddar Muhammad Nabil Khokhar appreciated the performance of the police team and said that gambling is the root of cause of other social evils.
The accused involved in such crimes cannot escape from the grip of the law. Strict action against gamblers will be continued without any discrimination, he added.
