Sargodha: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Sunday arrested a forest ranger of the Forest Department Khushab red-handed while accepting a bribe.
According to a spokesperson, an ACE team under the supervision of the Regional Director Anti-Corruption Sargodha conducted a raid in Khushab and apprehended the accused, identified as Javed Ali.
Anti-corruption officials stated that the accused had demanded Rs 10,000 as a bribe from a citizen in exchange for providing seedlings from the government nursery and granting permission to cut wood from the government forest. He was caught red-handed while allegedly receiving the marked bribe money.
ACE Khushab has registered a case against the accused officer and initiated further investigation. Officials added that non-discriminatory action against corruption across the region would continue.
