ADC directs strict action against profiteers. hoarders


Rawalpindi: Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) Enforcement. Rawalpindi. Abdul Rehman Khan has directed Price Magistrates and officers of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) to intensify action against overcharging. hoarding and illegal profiteering across the district.



Presiding over a meeting to review measures to control illegal profiteering. attended by all Assistant Commissioners and PERA officers. he directed the officers to take indiscriminate action against shopkeepers charging prices above officially fixed rates and impose fines on violators in accordance with the law.



He ordered Price Magistrates and PERA officers to conduct daily inspections of markets and take action against traders who failed to prominently display official price lists at their outlets.



The ADC said ensuring the availability of essential commodities to citizens at officially fixed prices was a top priority of the district administration.



He warned that negligence or laxity in implementing price control laws would not be tolerated.
