Peshawar: Special Assistant to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister for Population Welfare Tufail Anjum has directed the Population Welfare Department to strengthen family planning services and develop a coordinated strategy for balanced population growth.
He issued the directives while chairing a review meeting in Peshawar on the department’s performance and ongoing activities.
Officials briefed the meeting on family planning initiatives. public awareness programmes. field services and other population-related measures. besides updating the participants on progress on ongoing projects.
Tufail Anjum stressed the need to improve public awareness about family planning to address challenges arising from rapid population growth.
He directed the department to make family planning services more accessible and effective. particularly in remote areas.
He said maintaining a balance between population growth and available resources was an important government priority and called for aligning departmental services with changing requirements.
The special assistant also directed officials to strengthen awareness campaigns and adopt a coordinated approach to disseminating information about family planning among different segments of society.
He urged officers to perform their responsibilities diligently. improve the quality of public services and ensure timely delivery of services to achieve the department’s targets.
