SUKKUR: Divisional Commissioner, Fayaz Hussain Abbasi on Wednesday said that all relevant departments have been activated before the monsoon season, and the administration is prepared to deal with any potential emergency situations that may arise during the monsoon season.
While visiting several water pumping stations in the city, along with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sukkur, Dr Raja MB Dharejo and other officers, the divisional Commissioner also visited the water pumping stations at Makka, Shalimar, Qureshi Road, Dubba Road, Jail Road, Miani, Police Line, and Bachal Shah Disposal Pumping Stations, and reviewed the preparations for the monsoon season.
He said that the purpose of the visit was to ensure the readiness of the pumping stations to deal with the potential flooding and drainage issues during the monsoon season.
Abbasi emphasized the importance of taking proactive measures to mitigate the effects of heavy rainfall and directed the relevant authorities to ensure backup power arrangements at the pum
ping stations and strengthen coordination between municipal services and public health departments.
He also directed a special contingency plan for choking points and low-lying areas of the city to prevent inconvenience to citizens during potential rainfall.
