BUREWALA:The Agriculture Department, in a joint operation with police, seized thousands of litres of suspected counterfeit liquid fertilizer and equipment used for its production from a village near Gaggo Mandi.
The raid was conducted in Chak 219/EB under the supervision of Assistant Director Agriculture Burewala Rana Tariq, accompanied by Agriculture Officer City Gaggo Muhammad Mohsin.
During the operation, officials recovered thousands of litres of suspected fake liquid fertilizer along with equipment used to manufacture it. The nominated suspect, Haseeb Hameed s/o Abdul Hameed, reportedly fled the scene.
The action was part of efforts to curb the production and sale of suspected counterfeit and substandard fertilizers, which can adversely affect crop yields and cause financial losses to farmers.
