Hyderabad: Shaheed Benazirabad police claimed to have arrested an injured suspect following an encounter with armed criminals within the limits of Ali Abad Police Station.
According to the police spokesperson, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Ali Abad Police Station, along with his team, was on routine patrol near Sukkur Link Road close to Daulatpur Shakh Mori when they encountered armed suspects. The suspects allegedly opened fire on police party, prompting a retaliatory response in self-defense.
During exchange of fire, one suspect was injured and taken into custody, while his accomplices managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the fleeing suspects. The arrested suspect was identified as Nadir alias Badshah, son of Muhammad Yousuf Rind, a resident of Mehran Colony, Sakrand. Police recovered a 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from his possession.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect is allegedly involved in multiple cases of theft, robbery, and other serious crimes. Police records show that he is nominated in several cases registered at Sakrand and Ali Abad police stations under various sections of Pakistan Penal Code, Sindh Arms Act, and the Control of Narcotic Substances laws from 2019 to 2026. Further verification of the suspect’s criminal record is underway.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shaheed Benazirabad, Sumeer Noor Channa, appreciated the performance of Ali Abad police team and commended their bravery.
He reiterated that protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority and that operations against criminal elements would continue without discrimination.
